    Ratty or VDub?

I loved the Ratty for its "Grand Central" energy - everyone coming and going amidst the chatter and noise. You could always find a friend there no matter when you went and, depending on where you decided to sit, the vibe could be different. My usual spot was near the main doors, but sometimes those quiet sections way in the back or off to the side called to me. There were too many days I lingered way too long in the Ratty! Procrastination over questionable food and friends - such a part of my Brown experience.

    Favorite Prof

Tori Haring-Smith. I took her Feminist Drama class and also worked with her as a Rose Writing Fellow. She is one of the reasons I declared both English and Women's Studies as my concentrations. There were so many amazing teachers at Brown, but she stands out for her mentorship, accessibility, humor, and intellect.

Outside of class, I was very active at Sarah Doyle Women's Center and worked there as a volunteer coordinator. The Center used to be in this tiny house across from Pembroke campus, but I believe the house is long gone. Also, I discovered candle pin bowling while at Brown and for a time, it was the go-to activity for me and my housemates. Finally, Funk Nite was a must - every Thursday!

    What’s Life Like Now?

My life now is the perfect balance of work and family. After years managing large and then larger medical groups, I helped my husband launch his solo practice in 2021. Like many folks, the COVID lockdown really made us reassess how we wanted to finish out our careers. Go big or go home they say. Our version of "going home" was returning to community based care. My daughter and her husband work with us as well, so it is truly a family business.
